High School Crew

Shaker Crew Fall 2019 Registration is now open! Please contact us at raiderrowing@gmail.com for more information.

In addition to Shaker Crew required forms, we must also comply with the State of Ohio, Shaker Heights High School, and the Cleveland Rowing Foundation. Unfortunately, this results in quite a bit of paperwork. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Fees

The crew team fees are evaluated seasonally by the SHHS Parent Crew Board. They include CRF boat rack fees, CRF rower assessments, regatta entrance fees, travel fees (hotel + food), driver reimbursement fees, and the cost of the bus driver and boat trailer driver travel fees. Fundraising is done a few times a year to keep our overall costs down. These fundraisers help pay for upkeep to the trailer, boats, cox boxes, and other necessary repairs or purchases of equipment.

Forms

For liability reasons, please note that athletes whose forms are not turned in will not be allowed to board the bus to practice.

Summer 2019 Learn-to-Row and Novice Camp

Shaker Heights High School Rowing is offering rowing mini-camps for students ages 12 to 15 who are new to rowing.

The free one-day camps are on Saturday, June 29 and Saturday, July 20, and will be instructed by Shaker coaches Kyle Dohlen and Mark Silverstein.

Novice Camp will take place August 5-9 from 4:30-7:30 pm. Novice Camp is open to incoming 9th and 10th graders who are interested in rowing. The cost is $125, which will be applied to Fall fees if the rower decides to participate in the Shaker Crew Fall 2019 season. School bus transportation will be provided, leaving from the south side of the high school at 4:30 and returning from the boathouse around 7:30. Rowers should wear appropriate clothing and bring a water bottle.

Registration is available online. Required forms are also available on the website. Please contact raiderrowing@gmail.com with any questions or for additional information.
